We collect information necessary to provide professional-grade aeronautical data services and secure multi-tenant hosting. This includes:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials provided during registration.
  • Source Data: Any raw data, schedules, or aeronautical files you upload to the Service for storage or processing.
  • Billing Data: Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe). Cardinal Horizon does not store full credit card numbers; we receive only the information necessary to confirm payment and prevent fraud.
  • Technical & Usage Data: IP addresses, browser types, API request logs, and telemetry related to your use of the SimVector engine. This is used for security, rate limiting, and performance optimization.
  • Commercial Client Data: For commercial customers, we may collect business entity details and technical configuration data necessary for custom integrations.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data under the following legal frameworks:

  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the data services, warehouse storage, and subscriptions you have purchased.
  • Legitimate Interests: To secure our infrastructure against unauthorized access, monitor system health, and improve our processing algorithms.
  • Legal Compliance: To meet applicable tax and accounting requirements.

3. How We Use Information

Your information and uploaded Source Data are used to:

  • Dataset Generation: Transform your Source Data into specialized formats (such as ARINC 424 or AIXM) as requested through the Service.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Provide secure storage, indexing, and retrieval of your specific datasets.
  • Administrative Operations: Process transactions, manage commercial licensing agreements, and send critical service updates or security alerts.
  • Optimization: Anonymize usage patterns to optimize our software infrastructure and data processing engines.

4. Data Ownership & Isolation

Consistent with our Terms of Service, we maintain strict policies regarding the privacy and integrity of your data warehouse:

  • Tenant Isolation: Your Source Data and any generated Derivative Data are logically isolated within our multi-tenant architecture. We do not share your proprietary data with other users or tenants.
  • No Commercial Sale: Cardinal Horizon does not sell, rent, or trade your Source Data or personal information to third parties.
  • Anonymized Aggregation: We may use aggregated, non-identifiable metadata derived from your usage to improve global service performance. This data is stripped of all personal and tenant-specific identifiers.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with the following categories of providers necessary to operate the Service:

  • Infrastructure Providers: Secure hosting and database services used to run the SimVector architecture.
  • Payment Processors: To securely handle subscription billing.
  • Map & Data Licensors: When utilizing third-party map tiles or data feeds, minimal technical identifiers (like IP addresses) may be passed to the provider to fulfill the request.

6. International Data Transfers

As a Japan-based entity, Cardinal Horizon processes data in Japan. However, our infrastructure may utilize global servers for performance and redundancy. By using SimVector, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside of your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.

7. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Please note:

  • Source Data: You may delete your uploaded Source Data at any time through the platform interface.
  • Legal Records: Certain transaction and billing data must be retained for up to seven (7) years to comply with Japanese tax law and record-keeping requirements.

8. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we erase your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Opt-out of non-essential communications at any time.

9. Security Measures

Cardinal Horizon implements industry-standard security protocols to protect our infrastructure and your datasets. This includes encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed credentials, and rigorous API key management. However, no system is entirely infallible, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
